The last day of my century
I visited
that sacred place
Paid obeisance
to my forefathers
For I know
my sons will not remember
this place
Nor this ritual
Even as we fade into oblivion
My forefathers and me
I touch the soil
that was once mine
Now that i am losing
Inch by inch, this world
And everything in it
So sad, even the heart cannot remember
what the feeling was
I walk past old signposts
Even as Cold signals
fly through my breadth
Living Ice angels
follow my path
As i walk down
the horizon
With the patient sun
There was a way around
this bleakness
That others behind me
will discover
in the many days yet to come
But for now
let me go

The Man
was in pain
I gave him peace
Left him there
to think
of all his naked dreams
Walking by, i saw him smile
One last time
And i walked away
Here was another
caught in his own
inner circle
I touched his arm
and looked into his eyes
And tried
to understand his pain
He looked back
And continued pacing again
Two steps forward
and there was nothing left to do
So i walked back
To see them both
back in their respective misery
This time, i stepped to the side
And let them
make their own amends
was in pain
I gave him peace
Left him there
to think
of all his naked dreams
Walking by, i saw him smile
One last time
And i walked away
Here was another
caught in his own
inner circle
I touched his arm
and looked into his eyes
And tried
to understand his pain
He looked back
And continued pacing again
Two steps forward
and there was nothing left to do
So i walked back
To see them both
back in their respective misery
This time, i stepped to the side
And let them
make their own amends
